Alphabet pasta, additionally referred to as alfabeto and alphabetti spaghetti in the UK, is a pasta that has been mechanically reduced or pressed into the shapes of the letters of an alphabet (often the Latin alphabet). It is commonly served in an alphabet soup, which is likewise sold in a can of condensed broth or as a packet soup. One more variant, alphagetti, consists of letter-shaped pasta in a marinara or pastas sauce. Little pieces of carrot and some flavors are commonly contributed to the dental filling. The noodles are typically approximately one centimeter in dimension and are formed like the letters A-Z and, more rarely, the numbers 0-9 or the @ sign.
